What you need

cup natural cane sugar

lb dried tart cherries

fresh squeezed lemon juice

0 In a small pot make a simple syrup by combining the water and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently. 1 Once the sugar is completely dissolved and has simmered for 4-5 minutes, pour into a container and transfer to the freezer to quickly cool for about 20-25 minutes. 2 Add your cherries to a high-speed blender (or food processor) and pulse a few times to roughly chop the fruit. 3 Squeeze the juice from ½ of a lemon into the blender and add the simple syrup. 4 Blend on high until you've achieved a smooth texture. 5 Transfer the contents to a freezer safe dish and freeze for 3-4 hours or until solid, stirring the contents every hour to keep large ice chips from forming. 6 Once done, serve and enjoy!View original recipe
