
Air Fried Tofu Sandwich

Fried tofu has always been one of my favorite things to make, but my least favorite part was all the oil required to get that perfectly crunchy outer layer of crispy goodness.

What you need

burger bun

lettuce

flax meal

cup unsweetened almond milk

tbsp apple cider vinegar

liquid smoke

tsp smoked paprika

tsp garlic powder

tsp onion powder

tsp thyme

tsp black peppercorn

salt & pepper

cup panko breadcrumbs

tbsp nutritional yeast
tbsp cornstarch

cup vegan mayonnaise

tsp mustard

tbsp bbq sauce

tbsp agave syrup
Instructions
1 In a flat dish, mix together the ingredients for the liquid mixture and set aside. 2 In another flat dish, mix together the breading ingredients. 3 Dip the sliced and drained tofu into the liquid mixture, ensuring that all sides are covered. Then transfer to the breading mixture, lightly pressing the tofu into the mixture. Place in your GoWise air fryer. Complete this process until each piece of tofu is covered. 4 Spray each of the pieces of tofu lightly with olive oil (optional- helpful for browning). Set your GoWise air fryer to 400 degrees and cook for 10 minutes. Flip each piece and spray the other side of the tofu with olive oil and cook for another 10 minutes. 5 While the tofu is cooking, begin mixing the ingredients for the sauce and gathering desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles...etc). 6 Once the tofu has finished cooking, begin forming your sandwich.
